Happy New Year. This can be a time of new beginnings or a continuation of the past. A
time to look forward or a time to re-evaluate. Its all truly the present; now. In
writing about resolution, Ben Franklin stated that we should resolve to perform what we
ought and perform without fail what we resolve. Therefore, if youve made any New
Years resolutions, to see them come to fruition, act on them.
If the time has come for you to take better care of your property, be it real or
personal, do it. Schedule the time and execute the activity. My do-it list has
been helpful over the last few months. Of course when we are busy, we have a tendency to
accomplish more than when were not busy. Ironic isnt it?
Speaking of busy, many unforeseen market niches are busily emerging in the real estate
industry, expanding the customer base. Niche markets are available for Seniors (those
citizens over age 65), military personnel (one that is growing), first-time home buyers
(with above-average salaries), the Spanish language market, resort properties, new homes,
and farm & ranch properties. Interesting how many of our friends and/or family can be
categorized into one of these niches.
Another level of service I can offer is being a buyers representative. I am now a
designated Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR), and a Licensed State of North Carolina
Real Estate Instructor. Having my ABR designation means that my knowledge and skill of
Buyer representation is amplified.
My seller representation skills have also been enhanced. In taking the ABR classes, I
was taught as much about representing the seller, as the buyer, in the conveyance of real
property.
As a Real Estate Instructor, I was pleased to learn that over 80% of my Real Estate
Fundamentals Class students passed their school exam. My wife, Lori, passed her school
exam and is studying to take the state exam. She placed in the top three scores for the
school exam.
If there are any questions that you have regarding real estate, please ask. I invite
you to ask me, by post or e-mail, any real property issues and I will respond not only
personally, but also with your permission, reprint your question here in the Hawks
Cry. We can learn from each other. (We have a page where you can
request more information.)
It is my sincere desire to assist and serve as many clients as possible in the coming
year. I am asking you to refer to me your friends, family, and colleagues that you know
who want to sell, buy, lease, rent or invest in residential or commercial property here in
the Triangle or in North Carolina in general. I look forward to a fabulous New Year by
serving those you send to me as referrals.
